How I Feel About the People on My Email List

Written by Jamie Irvine | 3-minute read

As I was listening to the monologues from Michael E Gerber I was reviewing my email list. I scrolled down the list of names and emails on my list and I tried to imagine each person, what their businesses are all about, and what they hoped their businesses would become.

I saw many names like:

I also tried to imagine the dreams, fears, joy, and pain each person was experiencing as they, like all of us, try to make it in this world.

As I imagined who each person was I was overcome with a profound feeling.

That feeling was love.

Not romantic love but the love you feel for a dear friend.

I realized in that moment that I have a solemn and very serious responsibility to help each and every one of the people who are on my email list and part of my online community.

That this is serious business.

That real people with feelings and needs are counting on me to provide them with something of significant value that will change their lives forever.

That if I truly loved them and they were my dear friends I would need to do something that really let them know how much I care about them. But, what can I do that will make a difference and demonstrate how I feel about them?

This question really consumed me because I had no idea.

After thinking about it I realized that the most valuable thing I have to offer is my time. Yes, I can and will continue to write blogs, post and engage on social, and produce the podcast but all of those things only support the one thing I possess that has the greatest value.

My time is the most precious resource I have and you spend time with the people that you love. So, I am offering every single person on my email list 30-minutes of my time. We can talk about anything you want, I will share with you my personal experiences if it will help you but most importantly I will just listen.
