Show Notes:

An Interesting Interview with a Great Entrepreneur (1:20)

Born in Bristol, CT, Michael J. Sahno began writing stories at an early age. He obtained a Master of Arts in English at the age of 24, going on to become a full-time professional writer in 2001. Since founding Sahno Publishing in 2015, he has gone on to achieve national and international recognition, gaining over 18,000 followers on Twitter and publishing and selling three novels both in the U.S. and abroad. Sahno has ghostwritten books for entrepreneurs in the U.S. and continues to electrify audiences with his story and his natural gift for entertaining while informing.

Find Your Blueprint (2:24)

First, Mike consistently gets up every day and pushes forward no matter what happens. Second, Mike also makes time for exercise, meditation, healthy meals, and plenty of rest. Third, Mike collaborates with people who have more experience in business than he does.

Remove Your Barriers (4:22)

Mike has faced many barriers, he was rejected by the major publishers over a period of years. When Mike started his business, he had a lot of experience as a writer, but he had no experience as a business owner.

Fully Express Your Greatness (9:13)

Mike experienced the publication of his first three novels which took him 25-years to write. Holding all three novels in his hands it took his breath away and he shared with his wife. Now Mike gets that same feeling helping others write their books as a ghostwriter.

Advice for Your Younger Self (11:34)

“Don’t worry period! 99% of what you worry about will never happen.”

Teaching Moment (18:14)

Storytelling is the number one tool you need to grow your business and increase profitability.

  1. Focus on your client’s journey not your own.
  2. Describe all the great things your clients will experience when you deliver your solution.
  3. Use social media and other distribution tools to get the message out to people.

How to Make More Money (28:23)

To use what you have learned in this week’s episode you need to act. This week I want you to craft a new story for your business and tell that story using Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories.

Remember that your story needs three elements:

  1. A beginning (an introduction that compels people to learn more)
  2. A middle (this is where you tell the story)
  3. An end (this is where you ask people to do something)

Once you have published your story please tag me in a separate post using @jamielirvine and #betterstories so that I can check out your story!

Family First (29:38)

When we are trying to reach a family member using illustrations can be very effective.

My wife does this with me all the time because I think in pictures so if she uses an illustration to help me see the relevance of what she is proposing I am much more likely to accept her idea or at least be receptive to it.

Try it out and let me know how it works for you.
